Bill Maher 's comments hurt,because the truth often hurts.we Americans always get excited when someone points out that were not perfect,especially if that person is another American. Bill was simply pointing out that we often select leaders that are flawed[G.W.B.] twice? wow! remember that? that wasn't dumb? but as history shows we choose to ignore their flaws for some mysterious reason. maybe because many of us are like lemmings that never check out anything for ourselves relying solely on information from talking heads who understand exactly how gullible a lot of people are and what buttons to push to blind the party faithful to reality. they say things like,the alternative candidate will let Gay's marry,they'll come and get your guns,they will raise your taxes,they'll support the death tax, they support sleeping with goats.and sure enough,without so much as checking the facts, or at least the voting record of our own parties,half of us swallow the hole load. That's what Mr.Maher is saying.its not an insult and its not an anti- American statement. it was a clear observation made by someone who checks the facts before he speaks and just happens to pay attention to American politics.novel idea.
